Melchiori makes watch list

Kent State junior Anthony Melchiori (Aurora, Ohio) was named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List Wednesday. Given annually to the nation's best punter, the award will be presented live on Dec. 11, at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.
One of 25 players on the watch list, Melchiori earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team honors last season. He averaged 44.5 yards on 35 punts and placed 14 boots inside the 20 yard line. Seven games into the season, the Golden Flashes ranked third in the nation in net punting, before Melchiori missed action with an injury.
