Lainhart named POW

After picking off three passes in Saturday's 30-27 double overtime loss to Akron, Kent State sophomore safety Brian Lainhart was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week.
Two of Laihart's three picks led two Kent State touchdowns.

In addition to his three interceptions, Lainhart also posted eight tackles.
Lainhart's first interception resulted in a first quarter touchdown catch by freshman Justin Thompson that tied the score at 7-7.
He ended Akron's first two drives of the second quarter with interceptions, the second led to a 1-yard run by freshman Jacquise Terry.
On the season, Lainhart has recorded 59 tackles and three interceptions. He posted 63 tackles and two picks last season as a redshirt freshman.
