Jarvis named to Maxwell Watch List

ROSLYN, Pa.--Kent State junior running back Eugene Jarvis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named to the 2008 Watch List for the 72nd Maxwell Award on Monday (June 30). The Maxwell Award has been presented to the outstanding collegiate football player in America since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert W. "Tiny" Maxwell.
The nation's leading returning rusher, Jarvis gained a school-record 1,669 yards on the ground in 2007--shattering the old mark by more than 300 yards. His 139.1 rushing yards per game ranked fifth in the country and first in the MAC. The first team All-MAC pick scored 13 total touchdowns (10 rushing, 3 receiving) on his way to compiling 1,975 all-purpose yards, which was good for second in school history.
