KENT, OHIO- Your 2019 Tropical Smoothie Frisco Bowl champion football team under the direction of head coach Sean Lewis finalized their non-conference schedule for the 2020 football season while the Mid-American Conference has announced the Golden Flashes' slate of conference foes.

The four-game non-conference slate will feature three road trips to "Power-5" schools and a home game against a FCS quarterfinalist in Kennesaw State.

The 2020 season kicks off on Saturday, September 5th with a trip to Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. It will be the seventh meeting all time between the teams and the fifth since the 2010 season.

The following weekend will be the 2020 home opener with the Kennesaw State Owls coming to Dix Stadium on Saturday, September 12th. It will be the eighth trip to Lexington for the Golden Flashes and the first since the 2012 season.

The 2020 non-conference season wraps up with the third trip to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Kent State will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, September 26th. It will be the third time that two-time Kent State graduate Nick Saban will face his alma mater. Saban earned his undergraduate degree in 1973 and his graduate degree in 1975.

The Mid-American Conference has also announced the conference opponents for next season. Kent State is set to host Ohio and The School Down the Road in divisional contests and Central and Western Michigan in cross-over matchups. The Flashes will travel to Bowling Green, Buffalo and Miami in divisional play and head to Northern Illinois in a cross-division contest.
