Flashes Add 12 in Early Signing Period
KENT, Ohio - Kent State's football program announced the signing of 12 incoming student-athletes to national letters of intent on Wednesday.
The Golden Flashes' 2019 class represents eight different states, including five Northeast Ohio natives.
"I'm really excited about our December signing class," said Head Coach Sean Lewis. "Eight of the twelve kids are from within a four-hour driving radius. We talked about it when we first got here that recruiting is going to start at home. That is where this class started and that is where it will finish."
Additional members of the 2019 class are expected to sign NLIs in February.
"We have proven winners in this class," said Lewis. "We have added some tremendous size and length, but most importantly we have added great families of high character people that are in things for the right reason. I know they will help continue the success that we have had and raise the standards and the expectations of the future of #FlashFAST football."
The Golden Flashes are in Frisco, Texas to take on Utah State in the Tropical Smoothie Café Frisco Bowl at Toyota Stadium on Friday, Dec. 20. Coverage of the game can be seen on ESPN2 and heard on the Golden Flashes Radio Network.
