For some of you old enough to remember watching the TV show “Happy Days,” you will recall Arthur Fonzerelli, aka, “The Fonz” or Fonzie. He was the cool guy who was always right. But in one episode when Fonzie was actually wrong about something, he decided to admit his error. But the words just wouldn’t come out. He kept saying, “I was wr . . . wro . . . wro . . . wr . . . .” He tried, but he simply couldn’t say, “I was wrong.” Just like with Fonzie, it is rare to actually hear people admit that they are wrong. On another thread, I admitted that I was wrong when I stated that Kent needed a new AD and a new coach after going 1-10 in 2005 and losing to Minnesota and Army the following season. So why won’t others just admit that they were wrong about Doug Martin? We hate to admit when we are wrong. I know it is for me. But sometimes it’s necessary. So if you are denying being wrong about Coach Martin, do yourself a favor and just admit it. After winning today and extending their MAC record to 4-1, the Flashes look better than they have been in decades. Yes, I know the Flashes had several turnovers and penalties today and they still have to play Akron, Temple, and Buffalo. But only a pure skeptic would deny admitting that Coach Martin has put together a competitive team. You know as well as I do that the Flashes are a solid program with a very bright future. So just go ahead and admit that you were wrong about Coach Martin. Don’t be a Fonzie.

I'll admit it...I was wrong.
I didn't print it, but I thought WMU would win the game today.

I thought that the game would be higher scoring, but I had a gut feeling that the Flashes would pull it out this afternoon.
Great win, I really want to congratulate the coaching staff and players on a great win today.
Really disappointed in Jameson Konz, he dropped a few easy ones today, that could have gone for big gains. Need him to rebound next week.
Again, great win. Enjoy, be safe tonight, and start getting ready to win the wagon wheel back next week at Akron!!!
I'll admit that I was frustrated with Doug Martin after the 1st 5 games of the season, but I have always given him credit for doing great things for the Kent State football program, academics, facilities, recruiting, etc. but he not improved the on the field performance. I stand corrected with the onfield performance. Keep it rolling fellas, I really hope that they win big at Akron, rest and get healthy during the bye week, and then go to Philadelphia with a purpose, stop Bernard Pierce, as Charlton (their QB was 5 of 17 for 30 yds and 2 ints today).

Congrats to the the team and the coaching staff. What an awesome win at home. The defense played outstanding once again and Spencer Keith just keeps getting better. Tyshon Goode made some unbelievable catches today and had a career day. A total team effort and a collective win. Keep the positive momentum going !

KJonz was wide open on that one he dropped, catch that and Keith throws for well over 400, maybe 440 or so. Great win today, these kids could've folded after BG but instead dug deep down and are now believing in themselves. Can't overlook Akron onme bit, one of those true rivalries you can throw the records out as both will be bringing it.

Do not really understand the thrust of this thread after what is probably the most complete, well played and well coached game in 10 years by a KSU FB team. Please let the poor souls enjoy this time without making those who were wrong, or now think they were wrong about the team or coaching. This is the type of performance that we should all expect for our teams. When I saw the players meet at center field after the game for a prayer, and then go to the band area for the beautiful KSU Alma Mater, my chest was swollen with pride. This was fun.

It might have taken that disheartening loss to BG, but these kids are starting to get "it", starting to get the confidence they need, starting to gel and the best part is many of them have several years left on campus. in the past couple games they had times where they could've folded and many expected them to as that's been the KSU way for too long, but they dug down and found a way. They can't sleep on Akron though, I'd love to see them put it all together and blow out Akron in their new digs, but I'll be content to get out of there with a W and all of our guys healthy.
