2006 (Freshman): Played in 10 of Kent State’s games as a true freshman, earning the starting job at defensive end the final six games of the season...named team’s Defensive Rookie of the Year...registered 18 solo tackles and 35 total on the campaign...his seven-and-a-half sacks for a total loss of 31 yards easily led all Kent State defenders and was good for seventh in the MAC...posted seven stops against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 17...career-high nine tackles (five solo) and two of the sacks came in Kent State’s first win on Sept. 16 at Miami...original plans called for him to be redshirted, but Doug Martin decided against it saying, "we just couldn’t keep him off the field"...one of eight true freshmen to earn a varsity letter.

Personal: Born April 21, 1988...parents are Matthew and Lorelei Hogan...earned Academic All-PAC honors for both football and wrestling...majoring in political science.
