If you're looking for a chance to get an up-close-and-person look at Kent State's football team, this Thursday's "Fan Fest" should be right up your alley.

This open to the public and free of charge event will begin at 5pm this Thursday, the 16th of August, in the Kent State Field House. There will be food, inflatables and music to keep the Flashes fans happy, as well as the chance to get pictures with Flash and the Kent State cheerleading squad.

Following opening festivities, the team and fans will move to Dix Field, where Kent State second-year head coach Darrell Hazell will lead his team for an open practice and scrimmage in front of the Flashes faithful. Following the scrimmage, an autograph session will be held on the field, giving fans a chance to meet and greet with players and the Kent State coaching staff.

The scrimmage will also provide an opportunity for Kent State season ticket holders to select their seats for the upcoming season, which begins on Friday, August 30th at home against Towson State Kent State is looking to improve on last year's 5-7 mark that saw Hazell's team fall one game short of bowl eligibility.

It was also announced that beginning this season, the first 1000 fans arriving the "Indoor Tailgate Zone" will receive giveaway items at every Kent State home game.

6:00 p.m. Scrimmage at Dix Stadium, open to public.
7:30 pm. Autograph session
